Bio
Jan has a concentration in health law, particularly in the area of managed care issues. Prior to joining the firm, Jan was a partner at Wall Babcock LLP and prior, worked as a solo practitioner in Chapel Hill. Jan continues to work from her Chapel Hill office.
Prior to establishing her own practice in 2002, Jan was a partner at Kilpatrick Stockton LLP in Winston-Salem. Earlier in her career, she was director of legal affairs at PHP, Inc. and an attorney at Brooks Pierce McLendon Humphrey and Leonard in Greensboro. She also served as an adjunct health law professor at the Wake Forest University School of Law and was a clinical faculty member of the School of Nursing at Rowan Technical Community College.
Jan received a J.D. degree magna cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1987 and a B.S. degree magna cum laude in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1980.
