Karen is a partner at Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC. Her practice focuses on estate planning, estate administration, corporate and tax law. She also is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining the firm, Karen was a partner at Wall Babcock LLP and previously, at Robinson & Lawing LLP and Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Winston-Salem.
Karen is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, Tax and Estate Planning Sections, and is a member of the Forsyth County Bar Association. She is a member of the Winston-Salem Estate Planning Council and has served multiple terms on its board of trustees and as its treasurer. Karen has also served multiple terms on the Wake Forest University Planned Giving Council.
Karen is included in The Best Lawyers in America, holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been included in Business North Carolina Magazine's Legal Elite® in Tax and Estate Planning for multiple years.
Karen received a J.D. degree cum laude from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1985 and a B.S. degree, also from Wake Forest University, in 1982. Karen is an experienced speaker and author. She has served as an Adjunct Professor at the Wake Forest University Babcock School of Management, where she taught “Federal Taxes and Management Decisions” to M.B.A. students.
Karen is an active member of Knollwood Baptist Church where she has served in numerous leadership capacities. She contributes her time to charitable causes. Karen is the past Treasurer of Crisis Control Ministry and has served multiple terms on its Board of Trustees. Karen tutors underprivileged children through a local Kids Cafe program and has participated in over a dozen international medical mission trips to underserved populations.
