At the Annual Meeting of the Bankruptcy Section of the North Carolina Bar Association on Wednesday, May 12, John Van Swearingen was elected to a three-year term on the Bankruptcy Section Council and Jennifer Lyday was elected to her second one-year term as the Secretary of the Bankruptcy Section. Jim Lanik also serves as the 2021 Chair of the CLE Committee for the Bankruptcy Section, responsible for planning the Bankruptcy Section’s Annual Seminar to be held in November 2021.

In lieu of Hope du Jour, CCM will host Hungry for Hope for the entirety of June 2021. Hungry for Hope will promote local food and beverage businesses that have participated in Hope du Jour in the past. Many of these establishments have faced new challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic and Hungry for Hope aims to thank and support them for their community involvement and participation.

Record-Breaking Fundraiser: 2021 Legal Feeding Frenzy

Last month, North Carolina legal professionals donated $230,539.89 (the equivalent of 922,160 pounds of food) to local Feeding the Carolinas food banks during the 2021 Legal Feeding Frenzy campaign - the most successful Feeding Frenzy yet. The funds raised by Team Waldrep Wall Babcock & Bailey PLLC supported the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC. We were proud to participate and look forward to raising even more next year.
